BOLD in the News
Discovery of Archive Testimony of Carl DeMoon
BOLD Ministry is making available for FREE the incredible testimony of Carl deMoon circa 1978. This is a stunning account of the journey of a former Catholic Priest who rediscovered a faith he never thought was possible through a series of events which includes the total healing of his daughter born with an incurable condition. The recording came to BOLD ministry through Anthony DiMaio and his friend John O'Neill, a former NYSE member and leader within the Brooklyn charismatic renewal which took place during the late 1970's and early 1980's. Please pass this link along to anyone who might have lost hope.
Father Ralph DiOrio was one of the leaders in the one of the greater spiritual revivals of the last century. Even People Magazine did a story on the gifted priest. Link here to the article in People.
The story explains how, "Carl deMoon brought his 3-month-old daughter Sarah from Addison, Ill. to see the priest last fall. Sarah was thought to be suffering from Down's syndrome, or mongolism. Says deMoon today: "I not only think Sarah is cured, I think she's a genius. She's doing more than expected of a normal 1-year-old. Science and medicine don't have all the answers. God still has the last word.""

CBN Report Covers Wall Street Financial Crisis and BOLD Ministry
BOLD Ministry, the New York City Marketplace Outreach, announced that a special report featuring the work of BOLD on the Wall Street Crisis will air this Friday, October 17th on CBN News (Christian Broadcasting Network).
The segment will feature video coverage taken from the media gallery of the New York Stock Exchange filmed the week of Wall Streets worst losses and gains in its storied 200 year history.
Wendy Griffith, co-anchor of CBN Newswatch, visited New York City with her crew conducting interviews with individuals affected by the most tumultuous trading period since the crash of 1929.
During the report, Wendy interviewed Anthony DiMaio, an Internet media consultant and the outreach coordinator for BOLD and Vaughn Weimer, BOLD Chairman and money manger.
BOLD has sought to reach out to the NYSE community and to the marketplace community especially during this particular time. In the spring of 2008, it sponsored a career breakfast series which brought some of NYC's leading marketplace professionals to discuss how they managed seasons of transition and change within turbulent periods of their careers.
BOLD also holds a weekly prayer meeting in midtown New York and is the host to the New York Stock Exchange Bible Study, founded in 1977. This study is the longest continuously running non-denominational Marketplace Study in the nation.
BOLD is a NYC-based non-profit organization [501 c3] whose mission is to communicate and demonstrate the reality and regeneration available through the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the urban marketplace. BOLD Ministry seeks to reach the New York marketplace community, from Wall Street to Park Avenue, with a message of spiritual relevance that addresses varying business challenges from a biblical model.
Crains NY just published another article on BOLD, this time covering the ongoing NYSE Transitional Training initiative. The full article can be found here. Below is an excerpt from the article:
"At last week's meeting, Mr. DiMaio offered attendees advice on how to create a resume (“Get a Gmail account, and use Google Docs”) and broaden contact networks (“Look beyond the people you hang out with every day”). He urged them to learn new skills and recommended that they read The Purpose Driven Life and Selling to Big Companies (“It gives you skill sets for determining value propositions”).
Above all, he delivered a pep talk and reminded the jacket-and-tie crowd not to overlook higher-level help.
“God wants us to have a good job,” Mr. DiMaio said. “You may think you work for a company, but someone else is signing your checks.”
Anthony DiMaio recently sat down for an interview with Crains NY on Marketplace Ministry and it's impact on people's lives. The full article can be found here. Below is an excerpt from the article:
"BOLD's weekly prayer meetings, held at financial district and midtown locations, have grown to between 15 and 20 regulars per group from four or five a year ago.
"People are looking for more significance and security," says Anthony DiMaio, a BOLD services coordinator who is organizing an outreach program for traders on the New York Stock Exchange.
Wall Street money manager and BOLD member Vaughn Weimer says he needs his dose of prayer the way most of us need that first cup of morning coffee. Having religion in his daily life keeps him from getting worked up when, for example, phone calls aren't returned.
"When you step into a worldview that has no time limit, it gives you a helpful perspective on temporal issues," Mr. Weimer says"

BOLD recently received a favorable mention in the NY Post. The article can be found here
